Accounts Receivable I, Willits, CA.

Job Purpose Accounts Receivable I is responsible for developing and managing wholesale relationships inquires.  This position conducts eligibility verification to ensure compliance, and communicates effectively with potential customers, co-workers, and sales representatives.  Accounts Receivable I also assists, and serves as back up for, the Accounts Receivable II.   Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • New Accounts/Accounts Receivable
  • Insure due diligence is completed during inquires of new accounts, accurately and efficiently
  • Keep accurate records and relay requested and required information to supervisor and officially support team members as needed
  • Verify the validity of the documentation provided by applicant
  • Creation of account via Epicor and paper filing system
  • Update audit sheet of new account created
  • Inform New Accounts support team of account creation
  • Make customer service calls and prospective customer calls as required
  • Assist Accounts Receivable II as needed
  • Invoicing Customer Orders

  Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Backup Accounts Receivable II by performing duties in his/her absence
  • Revise or create procedure forms as assigned by manager
  • Other duties as assigned

  Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent, associate degree with an emphasis on accounting preferred, with (2) years’ experience in an accounts receivable or related position.  Other experience may be considered as a substitute.   Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Intermediate mathematical skill – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, markups, proportions and percentages.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and software, basic keyboard/computer skills
  • Familiarity with Internet and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with Eagle Epicor software a plus
  • Familiarity with products/SKU’s a plus
  • Dependable, punctual, professional

  Specialized Skills:

  • Accounting and bookkeeping skills


  • Nursery and horticulture supply knowledge a plus
  • Bilingual a plus

                           Working Conditions Works primarily 95% of the time indoors in a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment, with moderate noise levels.  The employee may also work 5% of the time outdoors or in buildings that are not climate-controlled where (s)/he may be exposed, and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or agricultural elements due to the nature of the business.   Mandatory overtime in the busy season and some Saturdays.   Physical Requirements Majority of the day is spent sitting and occasionally standing, working on a computer.  May have occasional lifting of less than 10-25 lbs.   Direct Supervision No direct supervision of any employees.
